Carvings
All carvings will suffer some cracking and discoloration. To curtail these natural effects, they should be treated with Cetol Door & Window Finish by Sikkens. Re-apply every 2 to 3 years on southern exposures and 3 to 4 years on northern exposures. Proper care of your carving will protect its beauty, durability, and the natural luster of the wood.

Tables
Our tables are finished with conversion varnish. They can be cleaned with a soft cloth, damp with Lemon Oil.
Tables are attached to bases with wooden dowels to facilitate shipping -they are not glued. They may be glued with any wood glue if you prefer.

Don’t Let Your Air Conditioner Dry Out Your Home too Much
During the summer season, the humidity in the air outside can get quite high. However, you must remember that your air conditioner actually dehumidifies the air somewhat during the cooling process. Depending upon exact conditions in your home and your geographic area, your AC may actually wind up drying out the air in your residence too much. Excessive drying can damage fine wooden furniture.
You may find that wooden floorboards or furniture in your house are splitting, or that paint is chipping and wallpaper is cracking. A whole-house humidifier can help. Unlike with a portable humidifier, you won’t have to move a whole-house humidifier around, nor will you have to refill it with water. The system is integrated into your HVAC system, using your existing ductwork in order to humidify air traveling throughout them. It can also work independently of your heater or AC, for those days when temperatures are comfortable, but your home is still too dry.
